1) Heritage Skills: Charcoal Making

30th July 2016, 10 – 12.30pm

Barrhill Woods, Kircudbright

The Galloway Glens Scheme is aiming to support and develop heritage skills in the area. An activity recently highlighted on a number of TV programmes and with interest increasing nationwide, is the production of homemade charcoal. Tom Henry, a Dumfries & Galloway Council Ranger, will be running a session in which attendees will be taken through the charcoal production process and will leave with a sample of their own charcoal for use. Whether you are an artist looking at using original materials or just have an interest in woodland industries, this event will be of interest to you.
