02 September, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Venue: Meet at Clatteringshaws Visitor Car Park
This is an opportunity to learn how fish populations are assessed and an introduction to the electrofishing process. Working with Galloway Fisheries Trust, in association with the Galloway Glens Scheme, attendees will learn the background to the science of electrofishing and then be able to put the equipment to use and assess the species of fish found living in the waters of the Galloway burns. A GFT Fisheries Biologist will then explain how these fish are adapted for their environments and live their lives. This event is for anyone with an interest in the ecology of rivers in the area and wanting to find out more…
