An oral history project seeking to record the Lowland Scots dialect, which is undergoing a significant reduction in use locally. The project will capture the use of the dialect through a series of conversations recorded by young people from local schools. The conversations will be focussed on the question of how the speakers see the local landscape and forces for change, and will target three age groups in order to highlight how the dialect has changed between three generations.
